Default RMM confusion

So I have been researching more about my first two mods and they are RMM and HVFP. But when launching my car I don't get any wheel hop. Puzzled by this I pulled the car on a lift today and looked underneath.. From what I can tell it is in fact an OEM motor mount? I was under the impression that stock cars still experienced wheel hop. So its either a- RMM is aftermarket and it has me fooled or b- wheel hop occurs after some minor power gain? Anyone have any answers?

I've done research and reading so idk wtd I'm missing here.

What RPM are you launching it at? Also RMM doesn't just cure wheel hop...it improves handling, eliminates 3rd gear grind, some torque steer, etc. Also, the stock mount is a peice of crap which is gonna fail on you sooner rather than later...RMM was my first mod and I can't recommend it enough to people...get a rmm ASAP

What your missing is a picture of the mount when you had it on the lift.

My car hopped like damn bunny without an upgraded RMM.

Maybe your just pussy footing the launch.

Launching at about 3k, maybe I need to hit it harder tomorrow and see what happens. I also dont notice any torque steer in either gear.. It seemed OEM to me? Maybe I have one hell of a turd Gen poo. Though with 30k on the clock I doubt it.

Maybe I am just babying the launch. I guess I'll do some more research and see if I can use the lift again for picture sake

Hell, when my car was 100% stock I tried to do a rolling burnout and my turbo smacked my firewall so hard I pulled over thinking I had broke something... replaced RMM a week later.

Replacing the RMM is so cheap and easy that there really is no reason not too. It's a win win - better handling, less torque steer, less wheel hop, easier shifting, better feel...

Isn't there a company who just replaces the bushing in the oem mount? I forget which company that is. Corksport also sells inserts for the oem mount. Is it possible that you've got one of those going on? Either way, I'd consider something better, since it's such a cheap upgrade.

AWR's mount is basically the stock with a new bushing. That was my first and I destroyed it, because when they first came out they used a 70 durometer which they later figured out the speed destroyed the 70 for the rmm.

just tappa it in...

Got off work this morning, took it to a recently paved back road and launched it at 35&4. Some wheel hop in first and very little shifting into second. I did however notice torque steer but I was looking for it. I've had it a few days now and today was the first time I've wot shifted with it, fucking loves the shit. I haven't made it to to the strip yet, because they're only open like once a fucking atheist Christmas.. But I'm just going to grab one from corksport, or break down and donate to browse. On another note, I've driven an f150 for 3 years and nothing else. So you're fucking right on the money when you say I can't drive, for Christ sake I've gotta get a feel for it

I found I got better times not going WOT immediately in first and second. Easing onto the throttle will help with traction and will be easier on the syncros.

I launch mine around 1000rpm and get no wheelspin/torque steer. Who need's a RMM anyway.

Excellent choice. Just to warn you, it's going to be a little harsh at first. Let it break in for a good 1000-1500 miles, and it'll calm way down.

Replacing the RMM is so cheap and easy that there really is no reason not too. It's a win win - better handling, less torque steer, less wheel hop, easier shifting, better feel...
Holy fuck, this ^
Wot shift into second today, something smack firewall hard as hell! RMM on order in a few.

The harder you drive it the faster it breaks in. It's not too bad. I installed mine right before a road trip. On the highway it was fine, but I spent a few hours driving around town and it got a bit difficult to bear. But it's amazing once it breaks in. Can't hardly tell it's there, but driving is absolutely amazing compared to the stock rmm.

Meh after i got the jbr 70 duro rmm, i regret it. Pretty noticeable with ac on, rattles and vibes like a mofo on the highway. As far as wheel hop, how often do you launch the shit out of your car? IMO the most overrated mod. Just not worth the vibes and rattles. Easily the most overrated mod IMO

Maybe it vibrated his vagina too much. I have the jbr 88 dogbone and get minimal vibes after break in with the ac on. I didn't even notice it after a few hundred miles. I just installed a jbr tmm and vibes are barely there. When this breaks in my money says i will not notice it either. Only complaint is I can Hear my transmission in the cabin now lol

the vibes are also present on the highway with ac on when in gear and decelerating. Again, not worth it for daily driving.

AC on ? I guess I'll turn it on and see if my ac works next time I drive. Just dawned on me I haven't used that option yet in my speed.
Wonder if it vibes, how it feels w/ out a RMM before I install one

That's so weird that you have the much NVH with the 70a. I have almost none. I have some added noise when decelerating or engine braking, but even with the a/c on it's really mellow. I wonder if there's something not torqued right on your mount? I've also heard that if you don't install it in the correct order (as per the instructions) then you can end up with extra NVH that won't be there when you redo it in the correct order. (I can't attest to that, though, cause I accidentally did it correctly!)
