Default Spill Valve O-Ring

Hey guys today I took off my spill valve to clean and lube it up with some redline S1. Its most likely the first time the valve has ever been taken off and as i un screwed it the O ring snapped in two.

I found the correct dimensions on another thread already and ordered a new one but I was wondering if any plain rubber O ring gasket would do. Just wanted to know if I could go look for one at lowes to get me by or if it most likely wouldn't hold up to the fuel/heat? Thanks

Default Spill Valve O-Ring

I did the same thing when I took mine off the first time as well. Son of a bitch ripped. I then tried to a use a regular nothing special o-ring, but it started breaking down. (Black shit, looked like ink). But it did seal. I ran it that way for a few days until my replacement came in. So in short... As long as it seals, it should be fine. just don't don't forget about it and use it as a permanent fix.

Remember, that spill valve area only sees ITFP pressure. As long as it does not leak when your turn your key to the on position, you will be okay.

I actually bought 10 too lol. Found a thread where it listed all the replacement o rings and ordered it last night, thanks though I appreciate it
Using a generic autozone one for now, I'm on straight 91 so hopefully the gas won't dissolve the o ring like mentioned earlier in the thread.
