My order has been placed. I've wanted to switch for quite a while, so I took advantage of the sale. I'm really looking forward to learning another software package and taking advantage of VT's features.

Steve@VersaTune 12-01-2014 10:44 AM

Welcome aboard!

Jarods7920 12-01-2014 09:32 PM

I switched this time last year! Love it!

phate 12-01-2014 09:43 PM

@Steve@VersaTune, would you mind starting a feature request thread here on MSF? I know you have one on your forums, but it's a much larger crowd here. I think, as more folks consider moving to VT, they'll have features in mind they wish they could have. I know I've had a few things in mind for a long time.

Steve@VersaTune 12-02-2014 06:21 AM

Done.

802MS3 12-02-2014 07:26 AM

Soooo...how much better is VT than ATR...?

Steve@VersaTune 12-02-2014 07:56 AM

I'm kind of partial to VT, but here are a few key advantages of VT.

Smooth Shift - Shift stutter elimination
SWAS torque limit disable
Modern UI with a local database to store tunes and logs
Advanced log viewer with .csv and vitual dyno export formats
MegaSpool - configurable full boost launch control
Gen1 extended key tables to 4.0 Load and 8000 RPM with full resolution.

Is this still being looked at? This is what you are asking for, yeah? @phate;

Yep, but a new one was created and stickied today. http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...thread-180926/

udntknw 12-02-2014 08:00 PM

Saw that after I posted this. I find this one first and didn't see the other one.

Steve@VersaTune 12-02-2014 08:26 PM

Most everything on the old thread has been added. The new one is sticky so it won't get lost.

SparkySparks 12-09-2014 12:35 PM

Really tempted to make the switch, I need to get a laptop to replace my 8 year old one I have now first. I also need to do more research in load tuning (which I wanted to start doing anyway).

Need to start looking to see which, if any of the Windows tablets work with it.

Steve@VersaTune 12-09-2014 12:50 PM

Any Windows 8 laptop or tablet should work so long as it's not Windows RT which is not compatible with any "normal" Windows apps.

I have a HP Stream 7 that I got for $99 direct from HP. It works great. Tune editing is a little tough on the small screen. You can use a desktop to edit tunes and view logs. We don't limit how many PCs you install VersaTuner on.

Thank you, I would really only need it for logging and I would use the desktop for everything else. Still going to try and talk the wife into letting me get a new laptop but nice to know there is a cheap option also.

Plan on having a convert sale? I'm ready now but can wait for the next sale

Polish_Eagle 09-02-2015 11:56 PM

Sale or no sale, just jump on it! I made the switch last year and have no regrets. The support alone makes the purchase worth it! Steve and the others at VersaTune are awesome!

NCspecV81 09-03-2015 08:14 AM

if I can save $100 or more I'm gonna wait. I already have a tuning solution that works.

I would doubt it gets any better than this.

If you have a v2, it's $120 difference after you sell it.

If you have a v3, it's money in your pocket.

Well right now its not on sale. So it's $549. I can wait a few months if it's gonna be $449 again.

Steve@VersaTune 09-03-2015 08:55 AM

If you don't want to wait, a 10+ license group buy is a $100 discount.

A 5-9 license group buy is a $50 discount.

Group buy applies to all supported platforms - Gen1 MS3/6, Gen2 MS3, Gen1/2 CX-7, and SII RX-8.

Stop bumping old threads derpatron.

rfinkle2 09-03-2015 09:30 AM

I can get 10 guys in on this. I would like to make sure that making the switch is worth it though.

I need to make sure of a few things with Steve , but I have a list of guys wanting to convert already.

ge3kspd 09-03-2015 09:36 AM

^^ I'm with the boss man. Once Rob is good to go, I'm game with him. I'm sick of the lack of support we're getting from Cobb.

NCspecV81 09-03-2015 09:57 AM

well I'm down for whatever happens. If we buy now does it include the future updates?

ge3kspd 09-03-2015 09:59 AM

I was just reading on the the versatune site and noticed one thing that I'm not sure. The license is attached to the vin. Just to be clear, that means you buy and that's it, you can not re sell it if you decide to uninstall and sell the car..?

Yeah, that's what the other have said. it's permanently locked to your VIN.

Steve@VersaTune 09-03-2015 10:18 AM

The license stays with the vehicle. It can be transferred to the new vehicle owner when you sell the car.

You killin' me smalls.

BLKSTIG 09-03-2015 10:22 AM

@Steve@VersaTune; is the launch control for the rx8 timing based or fuel based? I asked on 8club and the response I received from someone on the forum was fuel based. I know that's not true for this platform and I assumed he was incorrect since I didn't hear it from you.

We use the stock rev limiter code on both platforms. DISI engines use fuel cut. I believe rotaries use fuel cut as well. I would have to see a data log to confirm.

jdmage_mx5 09-03-2015 10:56 AM

I'm in for the convert also!

NCspecV81 09-03-2015 10:58 AM

@Steve@VersaTune; any plans for a wnidows based program for monitoring similar to like the torque app for your product?

Steve@VersaTune 09-03-2015 11:06 AM

We have data logging with current/min/max display , graphing, export, code reading, and code clearing. What other functionality are you looking for?

jdmage_mx5 09-03-2015 11:08 AM

An android version for monitoring would be AMAZING! :D

Any chance we can get a screenshot of this functionality? I'm in the process of getting a tablet and I'm torn between 8 and 10 inch and it soley depends on how that functionality you describe is displayed.

Ditto with this. From what I'd read it seems to accommodate big turbo guys much better.
