| Not Ranked : 0 score No hood latches. Mine fit fucking perfect and sits flush. It came with a mesh grill for the hood scoop as well. Here are some pics. I paid a bit more for mine and went with a seibon but I know VIS and some others make a cheaper one but I've been hearing they have fitment issues etc.

| Not Ranked : 0 score I paid 770 for the cf hood. I think the other brands are about 450 or 550. The oem if you do get a truly oem hood i think for me was estimated to be over 900 so I just had the body shop do a cf hood instead and they promised to pay for it and woot never paid for it so yeah that's the story of my life. We had a shitty hail storm that banged her up real nice haha

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score got mine now. I installed the front rubber seal to seal the hood to the bumper. I used emblem tape. I may switch it to a thinner piece of double sided tape. In this picture you can see I did not have the seal on at the time. Now that I do it seals up the bumper.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Car needs CF wing badly. And rear CF emblem inserts. Roof wrap would look good but I don't advocate wrapping to look like something else, on principle. Sounds like you're doing gloss black... that should look awesome. In fact you should photoshop it, shouldn't be too difficult to get an idea what it will look like.

| Not Ranked : 0 score If you or someone else did a cf wrap it would be perfect to just get exta cf wrap and then wrap your spoiler, roof, etc. at the same time if you wanted to. Can you try to photoshop cf roof as well as gloss black? edit: anyone know the weight savings with the seibon hood, if any?

| Thank to a local body shop fucking my hood up, I'll be grabbing one of these soon as well. But I was wondering, since y'all have them, are you concerned about the note from Seibon saying not to use you stock Hood prop or aftermarket struts to support the hood? Some little foot notes in all the places I can find to buy one basically saying that the stress from them can crack the carbon fiber because they are designed to hold up much more weight.

If you already have aftermarket hood struts, I'd just exchange the struts for some lighter ones at autozone.

"Factory hood struts or aftermarket hood dampeners should not be used with this hood. They are not designed for the lighter and crackable carbon fiber hood but rather for the sturdy metal factory hood. User is responsible on figuring out an alternate method to prop hood."

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score well mine is working just fine now. I can definitely tell the struts are much stronger than required for the hood weight. I close it slowly and more uniformly now anyways. I don't just grab latch and yank down. When the time comes I may just replace the struts with lower strength variants.
There's a hole for the rod it even has the factory "ROD ->" relief.

While I'm here, I might as well share. I had some hood damage last year, so I picked up a ViS hood for what I thought was a good deal. It fit pretty well. It had all of the spots marked, but I had to drill out all of the holes for clips and weather stripping. It flaps around quite a bit on the track, especially over 120 mph or so. I didn't think much of it until this happened. I finished up my track day looking like this... :/ So the OEM hood scoop made a comeback... It has now made it through more than half a dozen track days with no issues. The more I think about it, the more I think I'm going to paint it soon. The stealth/sleeper look is pretty appealing... although it is pretty subtle in the right light...
