OEM grill (the smile part) replacement

Does anyone know where i can get a replacement grill or an aftermarket..i wanna change or remove my front plate but the stealership drilled four screws into the bumper..the top two are little which i can deal with. But the two that hold the bracket are rather large and looks horrible. So any ideas guys?

Onlinemazdaparts.com you can buy a replacement grille, it's about $80 bucks.

Jon I'm going to be taking my bumper off soon for the FMIC install so I'm likely going to play with it while its off. I'm Thinking of possibly removing the black smile part altogether and see how it looks. I think a straight FMIC with mesh will look MUCH better.

if you order direct from mazda it comes already painted, i was pleasantly surpirsed. so does the tow hook cover plate.

Might wanna make sure that mesh is pretty heavy duty. The smile supports the entire bumper. Without it you will have a very flimsy front bumper.

Imo it would look kinda weird still.. Then again imagine this with a fmic with a grille in front ..


Oh and also I got this gv replica Made from fiberglass. Fitment is slightly off and it has no mounting points.. So I took an eBay stock grille I had already cut up and slotted it in. I found there are clearance issues with the stock crash bar rubbing on the new grille so I didn't fix it in or mount it yet. When my ur crash bar and fmic goes in on Friday, I should have more space for adjustments.



Also thinking about covering over those 2 triangular pieces on the sides to possibly reduce the smile.
I've been toying around with the grille for a while now with @JTMS3 help/guidance and I would not be where I'm at now without his help.. So thanks btw!

I did this awesome paint drawing a while back of the gv grille with the triangles covered and then moved outwards slightly. I think it is badass and someone needs to sell them like this.

too expensive? What do you think a decent grille replacement should run? this is the same EXACT grille @Zbrit00x bought and is going to work on which is in the pics above. Hell I am thinking about giving it a-go, buying this and making the stock clips work as well with a spare grille in I have. If I sold the one I have already made it would be for $300 no less. To me $179 for an "almost" perfect fit is ok as I can shore up the rest.

OP - you originally asked about fixing the screw holes. I had the same issue when I purchased the car and took it back for the dealer to repair the holes and paint.

$229 shipped.. You know how much the gv grille insert costs after shipping elsewhere.. Yeah this is over 50% off, these things may look small and cheap in comparison to a downpipe or something but they take time to make hence the cost. To me 229 shipped for something I get to mess around with is good imo. The black one you are referring to is just the oem one right? This other option is for those who want to change the styling of the car, or undertake a new project, or have something that takes more air in to the fmic.

Isn't the mz3 and the ms3 different so it wouldn't fit. That is a mz3 pictured and from what I remember they have a bigger smile than a ms3

I thought they would be different too..

But as for this specific part, I wish that was the case, with mine I have to add material around the full perimeter to make it fit.

well after talking to @Zbrit00x about it and seeing the pics he posted it fits except that it makes contact with the stock crashbar at the top. Other then that it fits in there with a little gap on the top corners which can be easily fixed if you are retro-fitting the stock clips onto this grille. Either way it will be interesting to see where he ends up with it.

so than it is for the mz3 not for the ms3 cause you needed to make it bigger cause the mz3 has a larger smile
