Do you guys have any information on the valving? How stiff is the shock? In other words is the shock so stiff that rebound nullifies compression?

nope, If we see some good sales on the MS3's then we will def place another order as their seems to be a large demand for MS6 coils.

like we said in the OP, we will be doing a shock dyno (i know ive been saying this forever but things have just been crazy this spring) which should give you all of the information you need to compare rebound/compression ect.

Finally got mine installed on the MS6. So far, VERY stoked. I took quite a few friends for a ride tonight, all of which are car guys, and they were all really impressed with the ride quality. Anyone on the fence about these should just jump on the GB, its well worth it. I'll post some pics tomorrow too.

Edit: And I'm glad I really like these, because I never want to change the suspension out on an MS6 ever again. Ever.

How many people would be willing to put half down for the MS6 sets if we ordered more? It would be a 6-8 week lead time because they would need to be assembled and shipped from the factory in taiwan.

i can ask Wei if he would do this but it would have to be a minimum of ~5 sets just for the MS6. We could also do the GB discount price for those MS6's who would be willing to participate in this mini-GB.

Im not even sure if this is possible or if Wei would be willing to do this but i figured its worth a shot if theres as much MS6 interest as it seems.

thats your opinion. clearly other members have received their coils and are already super happy with them. We're a local DC business that actually stocks everything we personally make. Every set of coils listed in the OP will/do ship the same day from OUR warehouse.

I personally would not feel comfortable doing that unless there is significant price incentives involved.

My view is either get the MS6 coils built and stocked or offer proper incentives and guarantees to entice people to shell out a few hundred and have to wait 2 months.

it wouldent be paid in full, i just talked to wei and he said a $200 deposit would do.


this is a very small market (esp the MS6) so people who are posting now that want to buy a set of co's, most likely wont want to buy a set in 6-8 weeks when they come in so Sonic will be stuck with 5-10 sets for the MS6 that will just sit on the shelf.


if people really want a set for the MS6 they can leave a deposit and wait. These CO's arent just some random knock off cookie cutter set. they are all made to order and shipping by boat + customs + mail delays = 6-8 weeks.

No problem! Great customer service but that was expected. I currently have some Sonic Tuning wheels and that was an excellent purchase as well. One stupid question however, what is the purpose of the third threaded collar near the bottom of the CO? It looks useless to me, if our CO's even have those.

the third threaded collar locks the bottom strut mount from rotating in the hub.

How is the corrosion resistance of these shocks? I drive my car in salt water and sand on the beach. Is that stainless hardware? And why only the ms3 for adj camber upper mounts?

I wouldn't mind putting down a deposit, but 6-8 weeks is bad timing for me. Doing a road trip in 4 weeks and would like to rid myself of the monster truck ride height. If its possible to get them delivered before then I'm down to pay. Sucks, I really want these over the H&R's or the BC's. I know its probably not possible though.

all the hardware is stainless

the ms6 suspension is not designed to have camber adjustable plates at the top. you could shift the plat 3 inches one way on the 6 and it wouldent change camber at all.


this is the setup on the 3



so as the top of the shock moves its directly connected to the hub and therefore provides camber adjustment


the 6 has a double wishbone like this (almost except the bottom shock mount is slightly different but same concept)




as you move the top camber plate on this setup it does nothing because the bottom of the shock mount just rotates. the camber adjustment must be done from the upper ball joint or the upper/lower control arm bushings.

Yeah I drive my car on the beach lol, i had about 4" of salty sand caked around my steering rack to prove it. Seriously this car can drive circles around most 4wd trucks, I have only gotten stuck once and it took a diesel 4wd to drag me out.

Ive shyed away from coil overs because I am afraid that they will just corrode up and ill lose the use of everything that I paid for

Alright I can't figure out how the rear springs are supposed to seat. The adjuster goes towards the top right? There's no good way for it sit. It just sits on the bolt which definitely isn't right. The bottom of the spring seats perfectly.

im pretty sure thats right but @doubleflusher had this same problem with his when he went to install them because it wasent totally obvious the way its supposed to sit.

i just gave him a ring but he was at dinner. ill update this thread as soon as i find out.

It wouldn't make sense if that was right though, it's literally just sitting on the bolt up top not locked in in any fashion. And it can't be the reverse because everything just falls through the hole in the lower control arm. Thanks for getting right on this for me.

Damn, I want to buy some. If you guys could do a shock dyno, i'd plop the money down right now, and wait.

I just don't want to jump on faith. H&R Streets cost the same, but there's no need to leap there, even if they aren't adjustable. They have shock dynos and I know that they are acutally increasing performance, not just in ride stiffness but road holding.

Yes, the spring perch goes at the top, however odd it may seem. It does work.

If you have more issues, take a pic so we can see what's up and maybe make some marks on the pic.

So it goes in exactly like I have it in the picture? Where the little hole sits on the bolt? Or did they design it so you actually take the bolt out and put it through the perch? That would actually make sense.
