Is the hole saw used to access camber adjustment a 3"? Or will a 2 1/2" work?

Are the bolts for the strut mounts removable? I use torque dampener, and need to get bolts that are a bit longer.

I just set pre-load on the fronts, installed them with the top lock rings locked. Drop the car, let them settle. Then measure ground to fender and either turn the threaded body up to raise, or down to lower to reach your measurement. The bottom lock ring needs to be loose so the body can thread. Top rings do not need to be touched.....Rears were harder. I threaded the rings maxed to the metal sleeve thats sits at the top of the spring perch. Jack the arm that holds the spring untill you cant move it vertically or horizontally/ pre-load. Then bring up the rear control arm and bolt it to the spring arm. Once thats done, thread your strut to the spring untill you have tension. Then bolt the strut...... Im no suspension pro either but this has worked for me, no noise, and car rides like a dream...

your best bet is to put them on the car and then adjust as necessary. its not always a 1:1 ratio with CO length and drop so u might need to play with it some.

3" is the minimum i believe. It also fits nicely into the hole.

theres plenty of how to's on here for CO's for the time being. We are working on a specific set of instructions for these but if your going to install them yourself i would hope you would be smart enough to search MSF or call us up.

yes we are planning on making the newer version able to drop your car even lower for the gen 1. The MS6 and gen 2 sets can already go nice and low.

Hello Sonic,

Says you guys have one set left in the s1 for gen2 ms3? If I dont plan on running camber, but rather stock specs, do you think I would have use for the s3? I want to pick a set of these up for spring break if available, pm price please!

If I ran 17x9 rpf1s +35 do u think I would need adjustable rear camber arms?

Thanks in advance.

I used a 3 and 1/8th inch holesaw. It fit perfectly enough inside the inner diameter of the strut brace that I didnt need a block or guide. Everything is buttoned up and set at 4 clicks all the way around. Really love the way the car feels now that its been aligned and corner balanced. The guy who did my balancing complimented the setup. Said they were premium tier stuff

I use an etd so I need some longer studs on the passenger side. That's all.

Hello Sonic again,

My Post count is too low to reply to your PM. Shipped would be to 98296. I will try and see if I can get my post count up so I can reply back. I am always on this website, just never interacted with anyone, only read.

Just got these ordered! I will be installing them with some SPC camber arms as well on the stock wheels. Hopefully when I go lower I wont end up rubbing with the stock wheels.

Are the damper adjustment knobs to be left on or taken off after adjustments have been made? I'm referring to the ms6 versions.

It might be installer error but these are clunking like a motherfuckker for me. I'm going to go tighten up all the nuts n bolts again tomorrow to make sure it's not just my mistake. But how loud are yours Anthony? Every bump sounds like a wheel is about to fall off. I did spc's at the same time.

I did 1/4" of preload up front.

What is preloading and why did u do it? I just installed my fronts today and left the tops alone. I mounted them 10 spins from the tallest setting and only heard clunks once or twice immediately afterward.

I tightened the spring by hand till it was touching. Then added a 1/4 inch more. This does not really explain clunking because I can hear it in the rear too. And those don't have the same install procedure or any possible preload.

You can leave the adjustment knobs on the strut after adjustment.

So i put them full soft and they still clunk but its much less then on full hard.

I see you pm'd me but since there are more people having issues it would be easier to brainstorm as a group then just with me.

Did i set too much preload?
I loosened all the bushings and torqued them back down with all at what is ride height. and they still look good.

I ordered awr swaybar links to try to get the swaybar back to a more stock position to see if thats the issue.

I'm thinking it has to do with your endlinks. I installed these coils on my mazdaspeed 3 and Sonic provided new adjustable endlinks, I installed everything and I heard clunking noises immediately after the install. My enklink bolts were too loose so I tightened them up and the noises went away. Remember that when you install new endlinks, they are prone to making more noise than the stock. You are going to hear noises because of the design in the endlink. The noises should not be constant but rather; when you have your wheel turned and are backing out of the hump at the bottom of your driveway, you will hear a noise briefly, but it will go away. Make sure everything is super tight, that’s where my issues came from.
(BTW I had loosened the pre-load at bit to achieve a lower height and it caused no noise either. I had my preload the way you mentioned above and the spring was too tight)

The endlinks have not been installed. awr has just shipped them.
i checked the stock links, still tight.
i'm going to retry the preload then. just enough so the spring is pinched at full droop, is that what you reccomend?

Awesome coilovers. I've had mine installed for about 2 months now and love em. If I had another ride to install these on I would purchase another set. *wooowhooo*

i never had any clunking on mine. but my car is also racecar status so i sort of learned to ignore some clunks here and there lol.

let us know what you come up with. im still on stock end links and im pretty low and havent had any problems. how tight do you make your endlinks?

I think you mean "rear shock lower mount bolt."

This car has no rear struts (except for the ones that hold the hatch open ) and the bolts that attach the bottoms of the shocks to the car are not "pinch bolts."

I dont think its your pre-load. I would just try to tighten them as much as you can. That's what I did and it seemed to work. I figured since it was so hard to get the stock endlink bolt off the swaybar, I figured it must have to be just as tight when putting it back on. My torque wrench doesnt fit back there so Idk how many pounds its tightened to.

Mine currently clunks when I am reversing out of my driveway while the wheels are turned all the way. It is the only time they make noise though. I want to say its because i dont have the correct length on the front endlinks. I am dedicating this weekend to solve it.

Mine do this too when I go fast, but If im going super slow theres no noise down the driveway. Sometimes going around cul-de-sacs as well if I hit a bump. My endlinks werent "even" from side to side, but they are even top to bottom on each side. They will make more noises than stock, it says that on corksports website in their instructions for their endlinks.

Did i set too much preload?
I loosened all the bushings and torqued them back down with all at what is ride height. and they still look good.

I ordered awr swaybar links to try to get the swaybar back to a more stock position to see if thats the issue.

Any detail where the clunks are coming from?

Make sure the spring are compressed, so that it's not loose. We had few folks had rubbing with their current wheel set due to the car height being low.

PM us more information, we will get them resolved!

Good news for everyone, our third batch just finished production.

Shipping confirmed already, we should be posting details in two weeks about payment and exact shipping time frame.
