I've owned a Gen1, Gen2, and currently own the ST.

If you're looking for aftermarket straight line power, yes, either MS3 generation has more potential than the ST.

However, if you like to turn your car, the ST handling will dance circles are either MS3.

So I guess if all you care about is drag racing your FWD car, then the MS3 is a better choice.

jackhammer was just abusing me because when I started this thread 1 1/2 years ago, I called the ST a slow turd; and now I have one.

thats 1 lap, i'd like to see 3-4 laps later when the ST's lack of a real diff cooks the brakes. All i had was a JBR rear sway bar and some 255 R compound tires on my ms3 and that bitch DROVE, hard to imagine the ST out doing it without a real diff.

Stock for stock I would agree. However I have a couple guys that I tuned in which they are friends and auto x together. One has a speed, the other has an ST. Unfortunately for the ST, it doesn't stand a chance. The ms3 really does handle amazing with a few choice mods.

Its amusing seeing all the threads about that. People run into that problem after spirited drives, not even track runs. Then they park before letting their brakes properly cool and wonder what happened.

For those that want to know my reasons to buy it. Here's what I posted on the focus forum.

I leased, for me it made sense. Having said that in 2 years, I'll know there will be more choices for me.
Will there be a new ST? Will there be a new WRX hatch? Will there be a new Mazdaspeed?
I can't wait to find out.
My new ST came at a time when my choices were limited, as in it was the only car I liked.
In 2 years, who knows?

Same mindset about the ST here. Was looking for an entertaining DD that could handle some spirited driving, nothing more. If The only reason I have this instead of the Fiesta ST was because I wanted a little more interior space.

I am going to pick up a second car at some point as a fun car though. Just not 100% sure on what.

Just with a intake/tune I did a 13.6@102(best trap speed was 104) but thats pretty much on par or better than most speed 3's with a intake/tune.

I was simply retorting the favor bruh. Dont get all butt hurt about it. Idc about road racing man the car is slower in a straight line than my old speed3 but I was just stating how comparable they are with a intake/tune.

And for the update with the 2015 the head lights are different the whole front fascia is different and the interior(center console/wheel/ect)

I took my car 1.5 years ago and ending payments somewhere in 2016 and i felt the exact same way. It seems like so many interesting options are coming out in the next few years i dont know what the fuck i would have done if i had to buy a car this year (keeping is always out of the picture...)

MY ST is tuned with a IC and intake and straight pipe and rmm and good tires, and its still slow. The ST struggles to make any decent power without full boltons/corn or a big turbo. There is no denying the shittyness of the k03.
