Default Modding a Focus ST

Well i have a focus ST in the drive way now that it looks like i will start modding in the near future (not mine, the speed is not going anywhere). Before i have to go suffer an join a ST forum of some sort i was just wondering if, like the speeds, there is a set upgrade path to follow in order to prevent a block ventilation or turbo blow up.

Right now the idea is just to follow the speed3 path, RMM, Intake, cobb ap, ect. I have also been asked to look into the boomba bov (yes i know it makes noise whoopie)

The factory airbox on the ST is not nearly as restrictive as the one on the MS3... however, their FMIC is crap. I'd make replacing the intercooler a priority over the intake and the BOV... you can expect about 260-270whp with a mostly fully bolted ST on pump gas and a tune. They really don't take to mods the same way the MS3 does; mostly because the k03 is fairly maxed from the factory.

Justin and Alex both offer e85 tuning and the cars seem to respond well to this... so another option for cheap HP.

They seem to be doing fairly well with 2867's(mid 300's whp/wtq) and most are just on pump gas......a bigger turbo really opens up the powerband and they rev clean to 7000.

A 400whp ST with the gearing and powerband they have would be a quick car from a roll.

This^^^. FMIC now and save up for a BT (kits are running about 2K now). Fuel system is a bit better so you won't have to mess with it unless you want high300's/400 hp.

FMIC and tune are the first things.

That's what I'll be doing.

Pretty much what every one has said. Intercooler and AP should be high on the list. RMM should be up there too. Intake and exhaust is just a noise maker. Shifter bushings and stuff like that... tune with either alex or justin. Youll be impressed. e30 really wakes the car up. People are pushing 290-297whp with corn and full bolt ons.
