Mods are listed in signature. I reflashed the Stage II OTS map you guys have for 91 octane and everything is back to running smooth as it was before.

There was some mix-up on the intake size when I first ordered but I thought we were able to work it out. I plan on eventually getting a real e-tune, but I have to run that one by the wife before I drop the extra money on the daily kid transporter.
Please reply to the Flash Tune Email and we will sort this out for you. With the mixup on the intake sizing your tune is probably set for a larger intake than what you are actually running.

We have added a few features to our flash tunes to make them an even fuller experience:

http://www.stratifiedauto.com/index....ex&cPath=87_88

- SWAS removal if desired. This is included with every tune or tune update

- Compatability Check / Log Reivew.

For those of you who would prefer to have an experts eyes watching over their vehicles performance we have added the option to have a Compatability Check / Log Reivew. If you are in an area with exceptionally bad fuel, high altitude, extreme temperatures, or would like to be certain your vehicle is performing flawlessly then this option is for you. After you receive your Flash Tune you will drive for 40-60 miles in order to allow the learning parameters to settle and send us a WOT log following our list of logging parameters. A qualified Stratified Tuner will listen to your feedback and review your logs looking for any compatability issues which could affect the safety and driveability of your tune. The tuner will use the feedback and information you provide to make appropriate changes to your tune or make suggestions on how to correct the issue (swapping parts, repairing leaks, changing fuel).

Ordered a tune and the car drives and reacts great but i'm curious about power results and decided to throw 2 logs into vdyno. Horse power and torque seems a little low but the car feels more powerful.

It is already freezing weather in Winnipeg it looks like! The data looks like the tune is maximizing performance of the fuel in the top end (you can see a bit of knock up top which means you are at the knock threshold).

Down low, the boost is kept low to target a consistent torque regardless of temperature. This is due to the load targeting nature of the tune. In cold weather the turbo efficiency increases and less boost is needed to achieve the same torque.

Have a look at this article for more info on load versus boost targeting:

Blog : Load Based Versus Boost Based Tuning : Stratified Automotive Controls

As for the Vdyno power, it's hard for me to comment simply because there are many variables that come into play when taking the logs and setting up Vdyno. If you want to compare to the OE tune, then make sure you take the logs on the same road, same temperatures and with the same car weight.

Here's a dynojet of a stg2 91 flash tune car.

Just flashed my retune yesterday after adding a corksport 3" intake and tmic.

Gotta say its nice not having to deal with a maf cal. Just load the tune and drive. All my parameters look great.

Car runs great and the intake sounds great coupled with a corksport bpv. Plenty of ricer woosh for me! Thanks again to everyone at Stratified. Next time its gonna be a full tune.

This is how I got my Accesport and Flash Tune. I think it's a pretty good deal. The Flash Tune is a marked improvement over the stock tune.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I have a Stage1 or Stage2 Flash Tune. I don't think it applies here since these are not Cobb OTS tunes. The Flash Tune is still tailored to match my mods so I really don't think there are stages. For example, based on the mods in my sig, I should be running a Cobb Stage1 OTS map, that if I remember correctly, is limited to 17 max PSI? I'm hitting a little past 19 PSI consistently when I go WOT with my Stratified Flash Tune in 4th gear.

It would have been specified on the tune they sent you. I dont think they would do a "stage 2" for you without internals and some upgraded flow mods.

Mine reads:

Stratified Flash Tune stg2 93 V2.00

Happy to announce that we have V3.0 flash tunes now available on our site. I wanted to increase refinement of the tunes and move beyond Stage2. I also wanted to incorporate the latest features COBB released through the tuner software. So we now have a Stage3 tune to take further advantage of fully bolted cars. The E85 flash tune is updated as well. Here are the changes:

- Stage 3 Flash Tunes allow for further power increase over Stage 2 for both Flash and E85 flash tunes if you have supporting modifications.
- Additional refinements for bigger than stock intakes to maximize performance
- Higher altitude tuning changes to minimize power loss due to elevation changes
- Option to fix post shift stutter on cars that experience this (MazdaSpeed6)
- Closed loop fueling extended to higher engine loads to ensure AFRs are always on target

New customers - get your flash tunes here:

Pump Gas: Stratified MazdaSpeed / Mazda MPS Flash Tune [Stratified Mazda Flash Tune] - $50.00USD : Stratified Automotive Controls

E85: Stratified MazdaSpeed / Mazda MPS E85 Flash Tune [Stratified Mazda E85 Flash Tune] - $50.00USD : Stratified Automotive Controls

If you already have a flash tune, the upgrade can be purchased here:

MazdaSpeed/MPS Flash Tune Upgrade [MazdaSpeed/MPS FlashTune Upgrade] - $25.00USD : Stratified Automotive Controls

Awesome revision @Lex; I can definitely tell a night and day difference on the E85 Flash upgrade versus the previous version! Pulls a lot cleaner and harder from 4000rpm and up! Thanks for the continued support of the MS3 platform.

I recently got my Stage 3 93 octane revision and I can defiantly tell a difference. Easily worth the $25.

@Lex; On your website you use the terms "version" and "stage" and I was just wondering if those two are the same or are they exclusive of each other. Can I upgrade to the newest (3rd) version of the stage 2 tune? Or would I just be upgrading to the 3rd version(stage 3) if I choose to upgrade.

Also, I don't have an upgraded TMIC or meth, but do plan on installing a 3inch catless long downpipe to replace the first cat and the test pipe I have currently. Would my mods listed below (+the downpipe -the test pipe) warrant the upgrade to stage 3 even though I don't have an upgraded TMIC or meth?

Attached is a current vdyno of where I am powerwise along with associated datalogs.

Thanks!

The versions and stages are independent of each other. A stage is defined by your modifications and a version identifies the version of the flash tune you have which applies to all stages because the improvements are applied to all the flash tunes.

With a stg3 tune being on the aggressive side, I recommend an intercooler. If you'd like to have it regardless you can go ahead but I also recommend getting the log review especially if your local fuel is not the best. With E85 you're definitely better off and seeing the Vdyno you posted an update to your tune will result in gains.

Thanks, I'll give some thought to this and decide what's best.

I just wanted to pass along a big thank you to everyone involved, thank you for giving me my car back to what it use to be! I've had my ms6 since day one and then mazda decided to change the tune of the car I was really disappointed in the performance, now with your tune and my rebuild of this car I am happy to report to anyone, that you guys hit it out of the park. I'm monitoring everything and so far to my eyes the logs look great, I will get you guys to take a look when I get to the next point.

Anyway Job well done, many thanks for the support.
Robert.

Very happy you're enjoying the tune! These tunes have years and years of experience with driveability and safe performance rolled into them so I am happy to see people enjoy them.

I am sure that you have done enough etunes of various turbo upgrades with the big brands such as Corksport, BNRs, and the gtx's that you might have enough data like your flash tunes to make possible and safe.

I only ask this as opposed to a pure Custom tune for a couple of reasons. Reason 1 being that my car has been modified to the extent that trying to get a 3rd gear log is imposible due to the tires blowing off, and if i try for 4th gear pulls i would be reaching in excess of 90-110 mph through redline. The only place that would be feasable is via highway which means mor traffic and more cops which makings trying to get the perfect 4th gear log tricky.

The other reason really is that inorder to get a "propper" tune it would probably take months. I dont really drive exept to take my kid to school which is in a very rural town. I have my own home business so i dont get out to the city or roads that allow for propper 4th gear pulls.
With aftermarket turbos there is just too much variance to set and forget a tune. For this a custom tune is required. However due to the extensive experience with this platform we have a very good starting base for the tune. Given your circumstances we can definitely limit datalogs and stick with 3rd gear logs to dial it in.
