(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Back story: I bought my car used a year ago from a dealership, no info on the mods other than seeing that an SRI was installed by whoever owned it prior. I checked it out and saw an AEM dry-flow filter so I thought "Ok, AEM SRI, cool" and left it at that. Fast forward to this week, I finally got a Cobb AP (been monitoring with Torque for several months) and decided I want to try E85 since stations that pump it are abundant around here. I put in my order for the S-OTS+ E85 tune from Stratified and submitted the info form. Maybe an hour later I was surprised to see the map show up in my email--hot damn, that was quick! But then I noticed in the email I was asked to send a MAF cal log and WOT log after 40 miles due to inconsistencies with the AEM CAI calibrations. I thought, "I don't have a CAI," and 2+2 suddenly equaled fucking 4 and I realized AEM doesn't make short ram systems for the MS3, they only make full cold air systems. I went out and inspected mine closer and discovered the intake is just some silicone cut to fit with an unmarked, but solid, MAF housing and an AEM filter on the end. It looks good to the untrained eye and everything is sealed up right as I've never had issues with it, but it's definitely homemade. So I let Stratified know this and they asked me a few questions and had me send some photos and the diameter of the intake. I offered to throw an extra $20 their way for the additional time they're so kindly giving me. They let me know I can flash the map and asked me to still send some logs after 40 miles, and if there will need to be big adjustments after that they'll take me up on the extra $20, which I find more than reasonable considering I only bought an S-OTS+ map. Once I get my requisite coffee intake for the morning I'm gonna go finish out my current tank and then flash the tune. I'll follow up with a review on the map and further impressions once I have some time with it. Thanks, Stratified, for the superb service and assistance. Also, I'm now planning on purchasing a new intake before I go in on a full tune. tl;dr Buying a used car? Inspect your shit like I didn't. Stratified has top-notch service and definitely earned my business.
