Default Official Suspension Bars and Braces Thread

Suspension bars and braces are speciality items designed for a specific purpose, such as strengthening weak end-links, reducing body roll, correcting the additional negative camber generated when a vehicle is lowered, reducing chassis flex, removing the preload on your sway bar, eliminating speed robbing under-steer, eliminating torque steer, wheel hop and steering slop, etc.

More than half of MSF members have upgraded their suspensions from the following list with nearly half of these choosing the rear sway bar with JBR being the chosen rear sway bar manufacturer nearly three out of four times. The ones following are in decreasing order.

This two hole sway bar improves cornering by allowing trimming of over-steer / understeer to improve handling balance through varying the sway bars ability to resist weight transfer via increasing or decreasing the effective arm length of the sway bars mounting position. Front Strut / Tower Bars

With the majority of the strut tower being incorporated into the firewall, the argument is raised about whether this bar is needed. If purchased, ensure that it will clear the OEM (especially the Gen1) TMIC or any chosen aftermarket TMIC.

Tanabe Sustec Strut Tower Bar

If the chassis is bending, the suspension system is not being used to its full potential. This bar helps reduce chassis flex, allowing the dampers, springs, and stabilizers to show their true ability. The strut tower bar is arguably one of the least expensive upgrades that can provide a very high degree of benefit that is felt immediately after installing. End-links

These eliminate binding and remove the preload on your sway bar.

Note: New front end-link length = [OEM length] + [change in ride height] - [change in strut end-link mount]

The total length of the front end-links should not exceed 1.25" over OEM. Otherwise you can risk contact with the LCA. Some CO's like H&R and BC do not factor in the initial drop.
