Alright guys when you are doing these be sure to VERY mindful of the rings that will still be in your fuel rail when you go to put it back on. Should you wind up messing anything up like I did you are looking at an average of $13 per tiny little o ring...

FYI, if you take the insulation off under the IM and don't put it back in, the injector noise is loud as hell.

We considered taking it out when we did seals on Alan's car, but we were wondering if it helped with false KR, so we left it.

Nifty thought.
I might put my insulation back next time I'm in there to test....

Yeah but I think it's good to get rid of that crap. That way you can keep an eye on your injector studs/nuts through the IM

Well, if we ever get aftermarket IMs, we will have to compensate for the potential false KR anyway. It just takes a little extra time to adjust KR offset if it does cause it.

The insulator is there so YOU don't hear it on the outside of the motor.
The knock sensor still hears it on the inside whether the insulation is there or not.

My 2011 had no insulator from the factory. The old manifold I bought used did.

I'm taking the insulator off when I do my seals. I will reuse the insulator as a flotation devise

I wouldn't recommend ordering from toyotapartszone.com. first of all the fuckin goons charged me $12.41 for UPS ground to ship literally the weight of a basic letter envelope. On top of that, the next-day air box they used clearly states on the box to NOT use for UPS Ground. And finally, they fucking stuck the backing to the shipping label and the adhesive seal INSIDE the box. WTF really? fuck them.

Lol, they seem VERY inconsistent. When I ordered, they emailed me and said it was backordered, then the same day I got shipping confirmation. They also only charged me $5 for shipping and handling even though the site quoted $12.xx.

I don't think they actually calculate shipping costs at the time of order. When they final bill you it has the accurate shipping cost.

Installed the Toyota seals yesterday.....no problems so far....but for $8, is a great price, but for me, if they blow out I'm buying ptp injector seals....not something I would want to keep replacing...not a easy job I would do over and over....but we will see how long they last.

Just my 2 cent.....plus I cleaned the valves and everything else.

We torqued these to ~25lb-ft (more than spec of like 18lb-ft) in a GT3076 car, and they're good so far with ~375hp/375lb-ft. Just some anecdotal evidence Will definitely report back if there are problems in the future.

Definitely didn't feel like much torque on them, at all, lol. Still using the stock crows feet and bolts, too.

I think 25 ft# is what @jmhinkle used on knarfles car too. The seals are actually quite soft, and crushed very nicely.

Yeah just make sure to use something sticky to keep the seal against the injector while putting in the injector.

if you ever get done, button it all up and wot all over the burque and suddenly hear "clack clack clack clack" your seal feel off lol.

trust me, Joel and I know.

I jacked the front of my car up when I did mine. The angle you wind up putting the injectors in at, kinda keeps the seals from falling off, but they will slide down as a bit as the injector enters the block. No sticky material needed.

Duct tape here. Just laid it up over the injector and caught one edge of the seal. Worked like a charm. Injectors stayed on the rail so just slid them into the bore until each tip was in then pulled each piece of tape off.

we used a dab of permatex honestly. when we couldnt figure it out we didnt know where to start untill i threw a #2 misfire.

after checking each injector we noticed that the seals crush nicely and evenly. good thing i bought 2 sets : )

I used 20 ftlbs...with PTP studs...holding fine so far but I am still at 22psi on my GT28...just can't seem to find the time to crank up the boost.

like phate said, I think the spec is 17 so I went higher...lol two of my OE were leaking a lil...I left the IM insulator out so I can keep an eye on things. Can't tell the injectors are any louder.

Ok I have just been reading here and there. So you just ditch the OEM rubber o ring seal and slide these on and torque to 20-25?

You'll have to clean up the injector holes and injectors themselves. Use a dab of Permatex #2 to hold them to the injector. Install studs to replace the Torx fail bolts.
