@Farhan@DM;

Even though I have a washer and such on mine, I would like to have the care package because mine still vibrates and drones a good bit on decel. This might be due to my incorrect torque spec or the way I stacked the hardware, I am not sure. Pm me if you need my address again. Thanks!

I might switch my 7/16 washer to the hex bolt side. I have it on the nut side right now but still a bit of ninjy-clunkin action.

Drove 200 miles yesterday and the mount continues to impress. It provides feedback in all the right spots while not being too shaky when I'd rather not get a tickle in my taint. Downshifting is smooooth. There is no wheel hop when getting on it so it definitely does its job there.

More thoughts after the weekend, driving 400-500 more miles.

Yes, three washers. Don't know what I torqued it to, my torque wrench is missing. I'll probably just go get another. I just know I got it tight.

Okay just installed one 12mm washer with the included washer on the hex head side, and went back to just the supplied washer on the nut side. It no longer spins freely when tight...Good sign. About to let the car down and go test drive.

Default RMM testing and review diaries

Just curious. My nut is facing the passenger side so I could torque the bolt. Basically, ass backwards from everyone else.

I'm going to post here as well for the care package on top of my PM. I'll install Saturday without the care package and see if I get clunking and report back.

tapatalk, it sucks for free.

@Farhan@DM; I appear to be one of the few who has not had the opportunity to install my new RMM yet. I've been following this thread and would definitely like a care package. Thank you for making this right so quickly and professionally.

Thanks for understanding the nature of test parts and being patient.

We will be not be shipping parts until next week when we know we've got this handled. It's looking more and more like it will just be a washer of the correct thickness. If you do the install, just put an extra washer under the bolt head, torque to 20-25 ft-lbs and you're all done.

Aside from the clunk, how's it feeling?

It feels great, my motor is moving a lot less, NVH has increased a little compared to my stage 1 cp-e RMM. Will have to wait for it to break in before I can make a more accurate comparison.

If I have some time today I will try and back the torque down to 25 from 40. I did add a grade 8 7/16 washer. I am pretty sure the allen bolt hole is fairly rounded off though. The shifting is much smoother now especially in the first 3 gears. The NVH has not been reduced at all but I do have the JBR side mounts.

Had to pull my wheel to see why my coil over was clunking. Well i found a leaking oil seal, sadly compromised after a short 2k miles. Decided to get my mount installed after figuring that awesome news out.

Background : I'm coming from a JBR 88 duro RMM and I've got the 88 duro pmm and tmm.

Initial impressions: Comparing vibes after the swap at start up it doesn't seem as great as it was with the JBR mount. Is it a huge difference? I wouldn't say the difference is huge. Noticeable, yes and definitely not race car. Did a short drive and I didn't notice a clunk. I snagged a washer from my JBR mount per the recommendation and torqued everything to 25lbs because my torque wrench doesn't do anything less.

Driving impressions: I still have vibrations, but they seem to be less than what I had before. The real test is the 2500 to 3000 vibrations. They're still there, but it is not as rumbly and definitely more liveable. My rear view still vibrates but less than before.

Other: I'll be installing my CP-E tmic tomorrow and I will begin beating on the new mount. I'll follow this up one I get things broken in and I've got some more miles on it. The only downside to this mount, and I'm comparing this to the JBR, install was a bitch. The JBR doesn't need extra room for install so you don't have to mess with the mount plate bolts. I had a heck of a time lining up the bolts after removing everything. I might have just been going full r with the heat. I'm not blaming the mount and if you're coming from stock you'd have to take everything apart anyway so it is no big deal. More to come soon.

tapatalk, it sucks for free.

Well i guess i can do a little review on this mount. I have put prob 250 miles on it and one day at the track with 3 1/4 mile passes. I really agree with @monkey.bones.007; review. I am coming form trz 70 dogbone and i do have more vibes now but they are not crazy like a jbr but still noticeable. Today i had made the rmm bolt that goes to the frame a little tighter and alot of my decel vibes went away, the only reason i even checked that was bc i wanted to make sure it did okay after the track. All in all i may have set my expectations a little high but it still is a good piece.

To think that I was getting impatient having to wait until next Wednesday to get my RMM installed. With a little luck the care package will arrive before then or I'll just have to wait another week until it does. @Farhan@DM; thanks for being right on top of this problem and working toward a solution ASAP.

Quick update on my RMM - I switched the extra washer to the bolt head side and retorqued it. Vibes are way less now and no clunk still. I've put about 300 miles on the mount so far and I am very pleased with it.

Never said it couldnt. But when a product is released i shouldnt have to buy anything to make it work correctly even if it is just a 25 cent washer. This wasnt r and d this was a finished product.

Put a 7/16th washer on the nut side, it was smaller then provided one, so I put it in the front and torqued it to 20lbs. I still have some clunking though. Maybe I need to make it a little tighter and check the rest.
Also I wonder if one of my other mounts are going, and thats the reason for the clunking.

Also I wonder if one of my other mounts are going, and thats the reason for the clunking.
Switch the extra washer to the hex bolt head side. 25lbs. Check please

No prob. That's what got rid of the clunk for me. Had the washer on the nut side first but it didn't go away.

@Farhan@DM; instructed me to retorque my mount to 20 ft-lbs since I had put washers under the head of the bolt. He was absolutely correct and now the vibes are significantly reduced. Also, the decel drone has been moved higher in the rpm range which makes it more bearable.

I love this mount!
himurax13 and Farhan@DM like this.

Alright, got my washer at the hardware store on Monday, and I got my RMM installed today with my oil change. Coming from stock mount with 30,000 mile old CS inserts (they transformed from blue to black in that time).

First impressions: NO CLUNK! Vibes like crazy between 1250 and 1500 RPM (aka. starting from a stop), to the point where panels in the car rattle and buzz and my air freshener was dislodged from the vent. I suspect that will settle over time. That said, it doesn't vibe badly while cruising, just more than I'm used to; and that may mellow as everything settles in, but even if it stays the same it's not harsh or off-putting. One thing that I do notice is how much more secure everything feels while shifting hard, so I'm quite pleased with that.

The true test is how Darling Wifey reacts; if she doesn't notice anything then I'll know that you've done something right. This also gave me a little perspective as well as a sense of relief that I didn't go with another manufacturer's offering that, I've read, can 'vibe your teeth loose'. Eighty miles round trip to work and back means that something like that would get old very quickly.

Further impressions to follow as the part and I get to know each other over the next eight weeks and my next service is due.
