Just ordered one in gold.

I've tried a CS, JBR and TWM Full replacement short throws....we will see how this stacks up.

I did!

I ran it cold and warmed up. It performed just as well as I could ask it to.

I let the travel back and forth set itself; this seemed to work pretty well. There is very little extra resistance compared to other SSPs which is what turned me off them in the first place.

So far, in my mind, this is the only SSP/assembly that anyone should use; it actually does its job very well and seems to give the least chance of any lockout or problems that come with adding such a device.

Overall I'd recommend this product to anyone that was in the market; best bang for buck for a short throw option.

Ive had 2 different ssp kits in my car. Deff dont like the feels but like the short throw. Im going to ditch my jbr one for this one and give it a shot. The reviews say it all. And the price is unbeatable imo. Will order this week.

@organic_714; get one bish, you won't regret it.

I told Matt to dub this the Buttersex™ shift plate for a reason. I've been running it for ~15k miles and it's been perfect.

Glad you like it, and glad it excels where others have failed you in the past.

WOW, Torque likes it so it must be good! .... haha.

Im just kidding Torque but I know you have hated 95% of the mods you have done to your speed3.

Your review kind of reminds me of the old Life Cereal commercial. (Mikey hates everything)

Except substitute "Speed3 mod" for "cereal" and "Torquerules" for "Mikey".

I just get tired of half-ass engineered parts. Lol.

This one was thought out to be realistic. Not "WTF, lets make it as short as possible and shift feel be damned! Race Car!"

Honestly Torque, I always look for your posts and opinions and use them as my barometer. Thats a compliment.

I always want the opinion of the picky guy. If he likes it, then thats high praise.

Ordered mine in black on Black Friday, got it yesterday and immediately installed. Absolutely love it, was perfect and did not require any adjustment to the shift cable. I spent hours messing with the settings in the cabin with my previous plate, but never got anywhere close to happy with it. At least one gear was always crunchy. Not so here. Freakin' perfect shifts!

Late to the party as usual, but once the new year hits I'll be ordering one of these plates and possibly a RMM/PMM combo! All gold everything!

Well, I got around to adjusting my shifter cable for the plate, and I have to tell you that it takes an awesome short shift plate the next level. Buttery smooth. This is a must after the install of the plate. Trust me. Just release the cable lock on the shifter, wiggle the shifter around until it finds its own sweet spot, and then set the lock. Afterwards enjoy the greatness. 😉

Out of curiosity, did you ever adjust it before, perhaps for a different plate?

Just for the stock plate. I had a Sure plate which was not good. Went back to stock, but I never liked the 1-2 shift. So I adjusted it from where it was when the car was new (it has 8k miles now).

I installed yesterday, and based on all of the reviews I get the feeling that I overlooked something during installation because it isn't very smooth at all. I don't have enough posts to PM anyone from Damond Motorsports about it, so if someone could PM me about how I could go about adjusting/fixing this I'd love to edit this post to add to all of the positive feedback.

EDIT: A combination of adjusting the shifter cables in the center console and replacing the lighter shifter counter weight has this feeling great. I can definitely notice the shorter throw, and the shifts feel more solid than they did stock. I noticed a drastic improvement when shifting from 2nd to 3rd near redline, I don't feel like i'm going to grind 3rd any more. Thanks Damond Motorsports for a great product!!

Just ordered mine and can't wait to get back in the states and put it on! I've always been interested in a short shift plate but never really trusted how everyone was quick to sell them on here, and never really talked about their experiences. These awesome reviews definitely helped convince me that your product was the one i wanted to go with. I will report back in a few weeks once i have it on and get to see how it all works out.

Whenever you install something like this, Id let your shifter cable adjust itself to the natural position. Ive found this always helps with minimizing resistance

I installed mine this past Friday. Install took 5 minutes thanks to the HTP intake, would be a little longer if I had stock airbox. Got it on, went in the car and let the shifter cable adjust itself to the new position.

My impressions after driving the weekend with it is that the shifts feel really good. I know that the plate is there, and I know that they are shorter, but it doesn't feel much different than stock, in a good way. The shifts feel more solid and I haven't missed a gear shifting aggressively which I can't say for the stock shifter. Overall it feels like it should have come from the factory like this. There isn't a bunch of excessive play when selecting a gear, and it feels much better while still maintaining the drivability and comfort of OEM. Not once while I was stuck in traffic on my way back home did I wish it wasn't installed. Not once did I miss a gear or get locked out of one. This is a very nice mod and I'm really glad its on the car.

As far as the unit itself is concerned, the anodizing is very nicely done. But more than anything, the machining is perfect. The surfaces are smooth and the edges are beveled around the entire outside of the plate top and bottom. This is a very nicely made piece, and judging by the pictures of other plates posted around these forums, I'm very glad I have this one.

No Doubt.

Same goes for BOV's and many other mods.

For Sale ad reads, "Only had it on the car for 2 weeks".....Why?

Immediate red flag.

Did this - helped the 4th into 5th shift a lot, apparently that was misaligned a bit.

After running through the troubleshooting list Matt Damond e-mailed to me this morning (thanks for the quick response), I started messing with the counter weights. I had a JBR counter weight on there to start, and when I took it off completely it was more notchy. So then I tried the stock counter weight and WOW that makes the shifts incredibly smooth - better than stock shifter with the JBR weight.

Definitely have to say that with this new SSP it locks into gear much better than it did when stock. Most notable the shift from 2nd to 3rd near redline feels great. I don't feel like I'm going to grind 3rd gear.

Having a light(er) shift weight is all I needed to know.

In most accounts, having a lighter weight feels terrible. Never understood how people liked that cheap chintzy feel it gives.

Stock weight feels better to me - solid, especially at WOT runs through the gearbox.

Between jbrs short throw shifter and this I wish I had waited before I bought my twm. My throws are incredibly stiff.

Like you said Cheapspeed, the option wasnt there at the time.

But today? At this moment in time? A person would be be crazy to pick anything over this plate.

In fact you would have to have rocks in your head to go with the complete TWM.

This plate offers as much usable reduction as the available short shifters, feels as good or better, and doesn't lower the shifter/knob height (Awful! The one reason I didn't go with the Short Shifter that's available).

After reading through this, I unlocked the adjuster for my shifter and jiggled it about and through the gears and then locked it back down. Plate works even smoother now. I had previously adjusted the shifter when I installed my old JBR plate.

In my case I autocross nearly every weekend and there have been a lot of stories of popping out of 2nd gear under heavy braking - and lighter counterweights will fix that

First off let me say the machining and anodizing is absolutely gorgeous! It took me about 10 minutes to install, kept the stock shift weight and using a JBR heavy shift knob. Took it out and drove around maybe 15 miles and every shift just feels so damn fluid! I have no experience with any of the other SSP's on the market so I will be unable to provide any type of comparison.

I now own (2) DM products and I can't wait for them to keep taking my money! Thanks again guys, keep the products rolling out!

Oh yeah it's in there and feels real nice lol
I absolutely love it. It is exactly like everyone else said not to short but enough to clean up all the slop.

Recently, in the recent arctic temperatures, I noticed some notchiness on the second gear shift at lower speeds when the transmission was still cold. I took out the Ford trans. lube and switched to the trusty Redline MTL and it was all good again. The Ford stuff is very good, but for my Gen2 the Redline is much better.

Double true.

And if we told the truth, the stock fill works damn good in the cold too.

FOMOCO? Not so much. At least in new england winters.

I never got to try the stock fill in extreme cold, but I bet you are right.
