| Not Ranked : 0 score I'll take a closer look at mine this weekend, but something is definitely giving, the play is noticeable. I also occasionally hear a cracking/clicking sound when shifting under the boot. I too am feeling the rough 2nd gear shift, it sometimes causes me to grind because I am anticipating a quick & "smoother" shift. (driver mod.... of course )Will we ever see a complete shifter for the 6? I'm not holding my breath, but I would without a doubt purchase one immediately if they became available.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Regarding the MS6 FMIC, I have done quite a bit of workup on doing what I felt was a good one. I definitely prefer both hot/cold side pipes on the driver side with a top tank/bottom tank configuration as seen here. Custom crash bar. I think 2.25" hot side, 2.5" cold side with as few of couplers as possible. CPE had pretty good routing but that big aluminum tray that made you hack all of the air guides was totally dumb. The should have just don't a crash bar and moved everything up. Don't make us hack up the front bumper/air guides, or at least at little as possible. We don't want high pressure air to go anywhere but through the FMIC/radiator. Some guys want a TR10, I would be very happy with a TR8 size intercooler (rated to 500hp) personally. That takes care of 90% of us. To top it off, do an air diverter so all of the air that used to go to the TMIC can be directed into the radiator area. I think piping + crashbar + diverter + piping - intercooler would be a fair price at $500-$600usd. Dale's custom FMIC setup for MS6 - take 2

| Not Ranked : 0 score I know my designs are largely a pipe dream but here are more ideas. Keep in mind I do not have a condenser or a purge solenoid valve line. ![]() For road racing, I do not want to cover the whole radiator + I want hot and cold side pipes as short as possible for a quick throttle response. Mount a vertical intercooler "vertically" (duh), the hot side is obvious. The cold side could either (1) go through the top with some fancy pigtail curve or (2) go through the bottom (obviously requires the end tank to be positioned appropriately). This picture shows an ideal position of the two holes if we go with (1) above. A variation is to have the cold and hot sides on the same side, which makes the hot side even shorter (pardon the intercooler "design"). I think this way we could have our cake and eat it too when it comes to lower BATs and fresh air flow to the radiator or at least part of it.

Both, it flexes when it hits the gate (the part that wears on all our shifters) and mid shift. I've missed second plenty of times. My car doesn't have too much wear on its shifter but I saw one where the ball at the bottom of the shifter stalk was loose inside the area that holds it.

| Neutral : +1 score With a thread title like this, I'll beat the dead horse ... +1 on TR8 FMIC option (crash bar/brackets/piping (or use CX piping). I'll be first to sign up ... even going as far as to upfront a down payment. Yay for MS6 love.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Wondering if it is possible to come up with or adapt a "heavy duty" power steering cap that Maruha makes for the Miata.

I have a solution for you... reservoir sock. You could even make your own. Here's a pic on my old 6, not the greatest pic, but you can see it, and it worked well. No more fluid on the belt at the track: | |
