FREEK vs Brand X

I self tuned my car on the stock turbo but decided to go with a professional when I put the 2871 on. I went with brand X because they had a Holiday special which was a discounted tune plus a free "race" map. I relocated to another state during the tune, and ran into a lot of winter weather. My tune ended up going over the allotted time period so I had to pay more and I was out the other map. The tune from brand X was on a 3/9 e85 mix.

After lack luster results and still wanting a 93 map I went with FREEKTUNE. His 93 tune out performed brand X's e85 tune....

I can't say I was shocked, I knew I had made a mistake going with brand X over Justin. As the weather warmed up I decided to have Justin do an e85 tune. We ran into lack of fuel and spark blow out so he backed it down. The VD and 60-100 times speak for themselves. I will be back again for a meth tune.

FREEK 93 60-100 4.98 in 40* log F
FREEK e85 60-100 4.66 in 75* e85
Brand X e85 60-100 5.30 in 50* RN v1.08

I didn't make this thread to bash another tuner. I made it to praise FREEKTUNE and their ability to tune. Not only was it a better experience but my car runs amazing.

I can say freek took me from 13.00 to 12.64 great guy to work with all other tuners on this forum always post great information and try to help anyone who needs it without question.
Nothing but respect for all the msf etuners. This thread seams to be trying to say one is better than another.
All I can say to that is stop being a firestarting ass.
We all appreciate the time our dedicated tuners put into our platform.
They all push us forward.

as far as comparing .... u are the customer u can compare whatever the fuck u like ....if the tuner has an issue they have vocal chords if they choose to chime on or simply let their reputation do their talking.


ill give u an example..... sept 27th im going 3hrs north for my 11.xx unicorn street tire attempt ..... i am mindful of my mods and the power the car needs to be at , and since i can run 6 times in a row and have identical mph +/- .5mph i know when the car makes more or less power....after that unicorn run attempt i am going to try a different tuner that has impeccable reputation and most likely is a little more aggressive while having not 1 person ever trash them. So..... I will spend an extra $275 and see if my intuition about my own tuner being a little too conservative and less than spectacular as of late is correct and I see different mph from flash to flash on back to back runs .


now if say perhaps i do pick up 1 or 2 or 3 mph should i keep this information to myself??? what is the point of the community if not to share information across.

I am content with my tuner, first I dyno tuned and then i remote tuned for the e85 .... but i suspect there is more to be had in the car so i am simply shopping around to find out for MYSELF ..... i can then share my findings without "trashing" anyone .... it can simply be a matter of the limit of comfort for each tuner or can also be knowledge that one has over the other ....either way no real reason for people to get butthurt.... a tuner is there to service you ... hes not your fucken daddy

The process to be an e tuner sponsor seems to be a moving target. I know freek has been on and off. There used to be a bunch. The other day there was just stratified, which does much more.

Had a dyno day on Saturday. I was shocked by the numbers and still don't really believe them. The k04 cars that dynoed seemed to be making what they should for their mods....

I was the only Freek car there and the highest horsepower.

This car seriously makes easy power. GT2871, 22psi on a 3 gallon e85 mix, and makes a solid 400hp. Pretty awesome setup

I feel like I got pretty lucky with where I ended up. I almost sold the 2871 because there was a lack of info on the power people were making. The turbo now seems to be a popular choice with several people making really good numbers.

End of season trip to the track in 40* weather. Running 225/50/16 Hankook Rs-3's traction was an issue but my trap backs up the dyno numbers. Also fastest 1/8th trap EVER.

Decided to do some check up logs tonight, 8 months after the 93 tune was finished. The road I use to log isn't exactly level so I do a log both directions.

Ambient temp was 35*

60-100 times

Log-1 4.66
Log-2 4.7

Boost/AFRS etc mimic each other. Consistent as and solid tune .

Still going great, right at 40k miles on the car 10k on the turbo and 8k on the tune. I've only had my car out twice this year because of weather but it was beat on pretty good both times. The 93 tune in 30* temps is just insane.
