TCE Wilwood kits for 6 I've opted to split off the various platforms to keep discussion on topic. More info per platform coming soon, please stand by! |

Like the first 13" kits I did. Looking back it's hard to find images. 2004 Ten years later I'd like to see whats the same or different. Not only do I see possible new front kits but maybe some rear kit options we didn't offer back then. Truth is it comes down to what it's going to retail for. Bottom line there is that these "proposed" kit ideas will come in at the same prices as other kits- $15-1800 front and $11-1400 rears. It really doesn't matter 'what' the parts are bolted to (vehicle) the overall costs are the same. Both the 3 and 6 however I believe still have dual action rear calipers, that means that we'd be doing either a larger rotor kit for stock calipers (been there, done it, pics that can prove on the 3) or doing a combo caliper rear Wilwood set up. |
MAZDA 6 Kits will include: 1. TCE/Wilwood 13" FNSL6 front kit. 2. TCE/Wilwood 14" FNSL6 front kit. Years: 2006-2013 Also fits: 2006-2012 Ford Fusion 2006-2011 Mercury Milan 2006-2012 Lincoln MKZ / Lincoln Zephyr (rebadged MKZ after 2006) |
Dug up only one older image of the 6 kits from years ago. This was quite some years ago: four pot FSL with 13 x 1.10 rotor but on our smaller hats at that time (for 12" discs also) which tells me it's a years ago as today it would be our larger and vented hats. http://www.mazdaspeedforum.org/forum/foru...1&d=1409586584 Doing some further cross fit check and data comparing today. Should be current 2006-12 as I suspect. |
1 Attachment(s) Good news for 6 owners: your spindles (for brake needs) are the same from 2004 to current. Including all those other platforms noted above. Nice! |
Finalized drawings for the new radial mount brackets this morning. Should be making some chips late next week. New 6 kits only a short time away! |
How would these calipers etc compare to evo brembo calipers? |
Quote:
Kinda hard to answer that. Which caliper are you talking about? Do you have all the specs of the other? I don't so I'm not sure what I'm going to compare to. |
Stock evo 7-9 brembo calipers. Not sure of any specs sorry |

Mazda 6 kit work continues. Thanks for the pm questions. By all means tho please feel free to post questions or comments openly. I can take it. |
Should have these kits up and ready on the web page with in a week or so. Anyone wanting in early..let me know and we'll talk about a deal. |
Do you have a caliper template available to check wheel fitment? |
Quote:
Not a full template. But clearance info yes. *Wilwood does not release complete engineering drawings so we can only compute the X/Y coordinates for clearance relative to the "deck" - wheel mount surface. The required spoke clearance on both kits is .96" or 24.5" (call it 1" for simplification) Add about .100 to that for an air gap. http://www.tceperformanceproducts.co..._Clearance.png In the drawing above you'd need a minimum of 1" for Dim A. To check this place a straight edge onto the hub face of the wheel, then measure 'down' into the back side of a spoke at an radius of 7"+ for a 13" kit and 7.5"+ for a 14" kit. (obviously the caliper is just farther from center on the larger rotor) Another sort of back door way to do this is to search various Wilwood factory kits that show the required 1 1/8" (incl the air gap) and use it on your wheel. Time consuming and their templates are not a lot better as you have to try and blow up the pdf to spec before you can even cut it out. You could actually use the Mazda 3 kit HERE and fudge the clearance a tad. See page 3. Probably just as easy to do the ruler thing I've found. |
1 Attachment(s) Mazda 6 brackets ready for a test fit then out to anodize! All taking a bit painfully longer than hoped...between custom stuff and some SEMA projects for guys it's been a busy few months. |
4 Attachment(s) Mock ups complete. 13" and 14" money. |
OMG. Do want BBK for the 6. She is such a pig. |
We all WANT but lots of $$$ for it. |
Brackets for the 6 will be back from anodizing the next couple of days. Look for more info and maybe an intro price deal on them.... |
1 Attachment(s) Always trying to go one step beyond the conventional supply, TCE includes these dedicated hose anchors with the Mazda 6 kits. |
