Do options 1, 2, & 3 fit under 15" wheels? Is there a certain width/offset the wheel must be in order to fit over the caliper without touching? Ex: 15x9 +25 |
The 11" FBDL yes. The 11" DP6 yes. The converted MINI kit- proven to as a lot of guys track it What year is the car? I'll do some more data on it. Diameters are not so much your issue, nor "offset" but wheel design. |
No specific year Miata in mind. Was just asking for the benefit of everyone who still drives a Miata. The NB sport brakes barely fit 15x9's and you have to replace the banjo bolt on the brake line for just a few extra MM of clearance on the front. The sport brake rotors are 11" on the front and the rear is 10.9" |
The converted MINI kit allows a larger rotor due to the caliper design. You probably would not get a 11.75 with the FBDL in there. And the DPR is a much better caliper. |
This kind of cheap alternative to the stock single piston calipers, and much easier pad swaps is definitely nice. Looking forward to seeing someone with this soon. |

The major downfalls to the 11" kit for the "track user" is the FBDL caliper being too light weight for track use, pads being too thin and the rotors too light. *GT casting is ok. You see the common theme here...the converted kit uses a beefier yet lower fit caliper on a larger and meatier rotor and 16mm not 12mm thick pads. But: for a "to the door" cost of under $600 it's pretty compelling for anyone needing to replace stock parts anyhow and pick up some benefits. |
Are these out yet? I am doing brakes here soon and would like to upgrade. I have a 1996 Miata. |
