I was asked for clarification. So at the end of this, and $10,000 is not raised, is the built motor off the table?

Well, that's up for debate. And I will put it to a vote I'm a man of my word. So we can do two Options. If the 10k isn't raised. We can as a shop donate the money for the motor to it, or we still donate the motor. But I'll let the community vote because I feel that's fair

I would like to see us as a community raise the 10k for sure! But if the raffle ends the end of January I could see a more realistic goal of 3-4k unless we get some healthy donations. As far as deciding to donate the motor to the community or the money to the cause will be a hard decision. I'm sure people would be happy just to have donated but then also people who would feel like they lost out on a great deal.

We will have to average it out. At this point it's more than likely a Mazda person would win it. But we do have other people that have donated. So it will be an average of labor and parts etc. but let's say 3k. For a short block for average reference

So your original plan was to raise $10k and giving away a $3k built motor to the winner? What about using that 30 percent mark? If you raise $2000, then the winner gets $600 in store credit? Something like that?
The charity still gets money. The raffle winner still gets something. And FJ doesn't lose a bunch of money in the process.

I think this is the best idea since it sounds like you guys are far from reaching your $10k goal especially since 2 months have gone by with people being able to donate.

I for one already have a built motor... But I would definitely use some of that money as store credit or something. I would donate some of it back into the charity for sure though. There are better uses for it than putting all of it into my car. Lol

Maybe if we end up going that route more of a 50 50 would work well?

I'm still in for built block but would say 50 50 is a tough contender.
