This is my first post here. So "Hi" to all.

Anyone use MazdaEdit yet? It's from the same guy that developed EcuEdit for Subaru's and Mitsu's. I've used Ecuedit before. It's pretty nice. And if MadzaEdit is anything like his other work,it will be nice as well. Thinking about purchasing it to see. I have a couple people willing to go in on a Pro license buy. Is there anyone from Ohio on here interested in tuning their car as well. The more the merrier. And cheaper. Lol

Personal version is linked to only one VIN number grrrr.

Why don't we, as a group/forum, just buy the Pro Tuner version and spread the software lol. Only would have to buy the OBDII cable/connector.

What info would you like? I've dealt with EcuEdit for a couple years now.

Not sure about when the "personal" version will be ready.

Not real sure Hamish(the guy that developed the software) would be too happy about freely offering the software. There is a reason that he is charging for it. It is also linked to your computers "fingerprint" anyway. He might get suspicious if one person starts asking for multiple reg. codes. Lol.

This is the point. I'm trying to find even just one other person in the area to go in on it. I have a deal set up with Hamish already. Basically,purchase it for half price on the Pro version, but for a trial period. After we/I find that it works as advertised, we/I will purchase the remainder of the license. Simply!

It's not a scam. I've used EcuEdit on Subaru's and Evo's for a couple years now. You can read/write,edit and flash with one single program. I was skeptical about EcuEdit at first. Then once I started using it,I was glad that I made the purchase. It works just as well on those models as AP's do. It is very powerful. Almost too powerful for the novice or intermediate user.

I'm only here to let people know. And to try out something that could potenially be a very good tuning solution. If any of you are car savvy at all,you'd know that the "Open Source" (ie.Ecuedit,EcuFlash,Romraider,EvoScan) tuning software/hardware completely changing the Subi and Mitsu tuning market.

I'm very interested in this and will most likely have it one day. Much more fun for me to have a table layout I'm used to with other tuners (Hptuners, EFI Live, etc) instead of a hand held unit. Plus, having open source, I can write my own PIDs/etc for logging and monitoring.

I bet it still won't download from the car. I bought the Mazda-specific version of ECUEdit a while back and it would edit Mazda software, but I was on my own when it came to downloading and uploading to and from the car. BS and I couldn't even get a refund.

When did you purchase it? What issues did you have exactly? I have had issues in the past with Ecuedit. And I was able to resolve the issues relatively easy. Idk. We will see in the next couple days.

That makes the whole thing useless... Why bother to develop editing software if you can't get the info from or back to the ECM..

Well, the software wouldn't even load onto my laptop for starts. And then Epifan straight out told me it would not upload or download to or from the car. I would need to obtain other software to do that, then download the current flash, convert the file to work with his software, then edit, then convert the file back, then upload it. Never gave me a refund, even though he couldn't even get it working on my laptop in the first place.

Buyer beware that Paypal, credit cards, nobody will award you a dispute over a software purchase. I learned that the hard way.

so what, this is basically like another version of ATR? but you need the AP anyway to write the map?

Well, ideally it should be able to edit the ECU, and it might if it works on your computer. I even have the tacktrix openport 2.0 cable the site recommends. The only version available at the time would not read or write the ECU, only edit. I was not aware of that. Regardless, it did not work on my computer, and their tech guy did not speak good enough english to help me get it working.

thats what i had to to with ecuedit previously... edit with enginuity then load/upload with ecuedit

you shouldn't be depressed -silverdemon and I meet Eric today and he really seems to know his stuff on this software he's got an officially licensed version of the software and a good deal of any needed hardware to make connections to the obd2 port, not to mention a shop- his license is for 2 vehicles and he already has them lined up - when he starts working on these 2 cars i imagine we will see some good results from this - we talked at length today about a good deal of the car's specific problems and the potential solutions - if not more i know we will be back if anything to just get rid of dtcs from doing things like egr delete or vtcs delete - as far as the tuning aspect i think this would be superior to anything else as what Eric showed us on the software today the level of what you can change is very extensive

by the way Eric is an Cobb approved atr tuner if you in the Columbus area and looking for some to tune with atr - but that probably doesn't matter since I'm the only one on this forum from CBus! -

I'm developer of ecuEdit and mazdaEdit software.
ATE BALLER made purchase of ecuEdit Standard version in June 2009. ecuEdit always supports only Subaru and Mitsu reflashing. Mazda Flash compatible never be included in ecuEdit features. Also, Standard version didn't include flash features never, because for this purposes available Pro version. I don't know why ATE BALLER decide that ecuEdit standard version can help him to flash his Mazda... I have known about his goal only after he made purchase and I've sent to him registration information. After that I didn't see any messages from ATE on my forum or e-mail account. mazdaEdit Pro version was released in September 2009

So, I'll upgrade ATE BALLER's ecuEdit standard license to mazdaEdit Personal license then this version will be available.

noob question: what's the point of the standard version of ecuedit if you can't flash with it? is it for programming standalone ecu's?
